The Cayuga Waterfront Trail connects Stewart Park to Cass Park along a 5.5-mile multi-use trail. Start in Stewart Park along the Southern shore line of Cayuga, cross into a wooded area adjacent to the golf course, then stop by the Ithaca Farmer’s Market on your way to play Frisbee or hang out in the Children’s Garden at Cass Park.
Except for wooden bridges over waterways the trail is a 10-foot wide asphalt path which is easy to navigate even for small-wheeled strollers or skates.
There are multiple places to pick up the trail with lots of free parking including but not limited to Cass Park, the Ithaca Farmer’s Market, and Stewart Park.
The Waterfront trail does cross through the Octopus on Buffalo Street to Taughannock Boulevard on a combination of trail bridge and sidewalks.
Dogs are allowed on a leash. Except for motorized wheelchairs, no motorized vehicles are allowed on the trail.
